PATCH CAME BACK!

So idly sitting around my computer, tinkering with an LED PWM circuit, sis-in-law strolls in hollering for me to grab my camera.

Look who came to visit!

XKCD Tribute

I love the XKCD.com "my hobbies" comics, so I made my own.

My Pet Possum

So Patch here has been raiding my home for the past couple of days.  Initially noticed by my brother's wife, this little guy quickly became a bit of an amusement.  About four days ago he snuck into the laundry room sending Shari leaping onto the freezer screaming.

Facebook wants me to binge drink!

Facebook.  Just about anyone who has bothered opening a web browser has at least some clue what Facebook is.  If you don't know what Facebook is, well, just imagine having the ability to look at someone you know and casually read how their day went, how they slept, the fact their pet iguana ate their pet kitten, who they're involved with, what groups and organizations they're a part of, what they a 'fan' of, etc.

Home Equity Loans and the upside down dingy.

Just up the street from my 1960's built house are brand new, trendy designed, but ultimately cookie-cuttered box homes.  This neighborhood has a road layout that attempts to be idle and meandering, in an attempt to be quaint and sophisticated, but ultimately so reinforces my opinion that this place is ultimately soulless.

Pen Turning Photo Blog - Clark College Nursing Class 104 Pinning Ceremony Thank You Gifts

This little journey started at the end of my 6th quarter of the Clark College RN program. Deb and I were trying to come up with some gifts that would not only be appreciated by the speakers, but also memorable, special, and unique.

The problem came from the fact that there were 13 speakers and just the supplies alone were going to cost about $19 a pen. Being that the class budget had mostly been committed to the rest of the ceremony, there wasn't a whole lot left over for gifts. I'd finally decided that one way or another, I was going to be stubborn and do them anyways.

Why You Should Avoid Cash4Gold

The true character of those around us are revealed during times of struggle and crisis. During hard times, you would hope that people would come together and help one-another through the trials. All too often though, hard times make for fertile grounds when it comes to taking people for all they're worth.

I initially became aquainted with Cash4Gold through their TV ads which run during the prime time hours. Having been a speculator in bullion on and off for a couple years, I thought it might be an easy way to make some money ... had I the need to in the future. I went on with my day to day activity without giving Cash4Gold much thought.

Adobe CS4 Installation Problems (Error 1402 Solution)

For a program that cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, you would expect that the installation process would be fairly straight forward. And, if in the event it wasn't, the corporate support structure would be knowledgeable enough to provide solutions other than "format and try again."

Adobe's suite of software is incredible, and as such has become a staple of the digital world. With that much exposure, one would expect the company would want their software to not only work, but INSTALL smoothly. I got a phone call from a client who had spent a week trying to install the new'ish CS4 Master Suite. After two days of self-troubleshooting, she had started contacting Abode directly. Five days later she was calling me in tears because her work was piling up (her old CS2 and CS3 also would not install properly on her new workstation.)
